The 'Funhouse' star will give an outing to a new track from her upcoming album 'The Truth About Love' on the night.
Pink has been confirmed as the latest performer at next month's MTV Video Music Awards 2012.
The 'Who Knew' will take to the stage to perform a brand new track from her sixth studio album 'The Truth About Love', and told MTV News that finds the honour very "special" as she was never allowed to watch the show as a kid.
"Being a part of the VMAs for me is extra special because my mom never let me used to watch MTV as a little girl," she admitted. "I would watch it anyway but she would also try and ground me but then I would just sneak out my window and go to someone's house that had MTV so to be on MTV is quite ironic."
The American singer will join the likes of One Direction and Alicia Keys who have already been confirmed to perform on the night.
"It's always one of the more enjoyable shows because it's relaxed and it's kind of rock and roll and unpredictable and everyone is having a good time," she added.
The ceremony will take place at the Staples Center in Los Angles on 6th September.
Drake and Rihanna lead the nominations list with five nods, each which includes their collaborative track 'Take Care'.
Pink will release her new album 'The Truth About Love' on 17th September and recently revealed a collaboration with Eminem will feature on the record alongside her already confirmed Lily Allen duet.
