One Direction's Zayn: "I Nearly Drowned Last Year"

The 'One Thing' star admits Louis gave him a fright when he tipped over his canoe in New York.

One Direction's Zayn Malik has revealed he almost drowned last year when band mate Louis Tomlinson tipped over a canoe he was in.

The 'What Makes You Beautiful' singer confessed that he was in the lake in New York when the incident occurred and he momentarily forgot that he couldn't swim.

"Louis tipped my canoe over when we were in the lake and forgot I couldn't swim. It wasn't funny as the water was very deep. I was worried," he told The Sun. 

The band have recently returned from the US following an appearance on the Nickelodeon TV show iCarly and will head back to the country at the end of this month for their first North American tour in support of fellow boy band Big Time Rush.
