The 'One Thing' singer is reportedly details to take to the field with his former Sunday league side against Doncaster Rovers.
One Direction star Louis Tomlinson is apparently close to setting up a charity football match with his former Sunday league side and professional League One team Doncaster Rovers.
The 'What Makes You Beautiful' star is from the South Yorkshire town and recently helped save his former squad from extension when he bought the team earlier this year.
He teased fans with details on his Twitter account recently, stating: "Big news coming soon but all I can say is I'll be playing football for three horse shoes against a Doncaster Rovers team an it's for charity."
He then added: "Will tell everyone the date and where to get tickets soon."
The boyband member's mother Johannah confirmed the news to The Star newspaper stating the match would take place at some point next month at Doncaster Rovers' home ground The Keepmoat Stadium.
"It is going to be in October, but Louis doesn't want the date released yet," she confessed. "He wants to fill the stadium, because it is going to be for charity.
"They were originally trying to get a game against the reserve team, but now it looks like it may be against the main team."
His mum also admitted that some of the rest of One Direction could be set to take to their field alongside Louis for the charity game.
"He may bring some of the other members of the group," she added. "He and Liam both love football and so does Niall.
"But I don't think he wants to upset the people who usually play, by packing it full of celebrities. If the other group members don't play, they may well be there to support him."
The star is currently enjoying a holiday following his band's performance and success at the MTV Video Music Awards 2012 – where One Direction picked up three prizes on the night.
The 'Gotta Be You' stars will also take to the stage for a headline show at the iTunes Festival 2012 next week and release new single 'Live While We're Young' at the end of the month.
