The 'One Thing' stars are reportedly set to team up with the likes of the Ed Sheeran singer at next month's event.
One Direction are apparently "definitely" set to appear at the closing ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games alongside Ed Sheeran, it has been reported.
The 'What Makes You Beautiful' stars were first linked to an appearance at the event back in June when the Daily Star reported that the ceremony would celebrate the best of British music with stars such as Jessie J and Tinie Tempah also scheduled to perform.

The band have been revealing their excitement at the Games on their Twitter accounts recently stating it's fantastic to be in London.
"Don't know if it's just me, but the excitement in London is unbelievable! Its gonna be a great games," tweeted Niall Horan before Danny Boyle's huge opening ceremony started proceedings last Friday night.

Zayn Malik also asked what fans thought of the event with a post on his social networking account.
He wrote: "Thought the olympic opening ceremony yesterday was amazing, what do you guys think? X"
Meanwhile, One Direction are currently working on their new studio album and have been working with the likes of McFly and Ed Sheeran on tracks for inclusion on the record.
