The 'One Thing' singer says it would be a dream to team up with the rapper after his recent meeting with the star.
One Direction singer Liam Payne has revealed that he is really keen on a surprise collaboration with Jay-Z, but conceded that the band are "not cool enough" to work with the rapper.
The 'What Makes You Beautiful' singer recently met the '99 Problems' star when he watched Justin Bieber's show in New York this month, but said he struggled to even talk to him at the time.
"I would love to do a hip-hop collaboration with Jay-Z," he declared to MTV News. "I don't know how to talk to him, though. I think he's wicked.
"I love Jay-Z. It upsets me that we're not cool enough, but I wish we could."
Bradford-born Zayn Malik also posed the question of even going on tour with the rapper, to which his bandmate Louis Tomlinson said: "Lads, I don't think there's much chance."

The band have also been speaking about heading back out on the road next year with Harry teasing that the stage production will be even greater than their 2012 outing.
"The whole show is bigger, and we're doing, like, 101 dates on the next one, so it's going to be a long one."
One Direction's new world tour will kick off at London's O2 Arena in February next year.
The band will also be at the same venue next month appearing as part of Capital's Jingle Bell Ball on a line-up which includes the likes of JLS, The Wanted and Rita Ora.
