The singer takes on the role of director as he plays shoots the group's rendition of 'Live While We're Young'.
Liam Payne took a fans iPod and filmed the group's performance of 'Live While We're Young' during their show in Hamburg this week.
The fan posted the footage onto YouTube, which sees the Wolverhampton born star taking the camera around the stage to shoot himself and his bandmates.
He sings directly into the iPod and takes turns in shooting sections of the crowd throughout.
The boyband were performing at the O2 World in the German city on Sunday night (12th May) as part of the European leg to their 'Take Me Home' world tour.
The band's recent performances have also seen them cover the likes of Backstreet Boys' single 'I Want It That Way' as well as Celine Dion's 'My Heart Will Go On'.

Meanwhile, the group have been filming their tour with director Morgan Spurlock as they prepare to launch their first ever 3D concert movie this summer.
The band are also preparing to unveil a "huge" announcement this week concerning "the most exciting1D news ever".
