The 'Little Things' singer and professional defender Rio have been tweeting each other all weekend.
One Direction star Harry Styles has struck up an unlikely bromance with Premier League footballer Rio Ferdinand with the two seeing each other several times this past weekend.
34 year-old Rio watched Harry and his boy bandmates perform live on their 'Take Me Home' world tour over the weekend, and returned the favour but giving the 'Live While We're Young' star a VIP ticket to watch United play Reading on Saturday (16th March).
"Just at the 1Direction concert… ear drums are struggling… never heard so much screaming!! Aaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh! Lads on fire!" Rio tweeted after watching the UK stars perform live.
Harry proved he is just a big a fan of Rio when he shared a picture of himself wearing a Rio Ferdinand football shirt after arriving at Old Trafford to watch the team play, and Rio later tweeted to show his approval for Harry's customisation of the look.
"Hope you enjoyed the show tonight @RioFerdy5," Harry posted, to which the defender replied: "The rolled up sleeve is what I'm doing next game!"

Rio was said to have kept his Manchester restaurant Rosso open until 2am so Harry and his friends could dine together at the venue, before they had to travel up to Liverpool for a show on Sunday (17th March).
One Direction continue their 'Take Me Home' tour with a show at Sheffield's Motorpoint Arena on Tuesday (19th March), after recently adding a brand new O2 Arena show in London.
