The 'Gotta Be You' star says he admires the singer's voice and songwriting ability.
One Direction star Harry Styles has named Coldplay's Chris Martin as his musical idol, and says he admires both the 'Paradise' singer's musical talent and charisma.
The 'What Makes You Beautiful' singer admits he would love to be as talented as 'Charlie Brown' singer Chris, who has fronted Coldplay since they were originally formed way back in 1996.
"My biggest idol has always been Chris Martin from Coldplay," Harry revealed in an interview for Tumblr's Storyboard project this week. "He is such a great singer, performer and writer.
"If I could be as talented as any musician, it would be him all day long."
The 'One Thing' star has been back at work with the rest of One Direction over the past week, following a short break after the band's return from the US two weeks ago.
The five-piece band had a secret photoshoot last week for their upcoming second studio album, and have teased a potential new single release for as early as this September.

Harry returned to his home county of Cheshire over the weekend to Holmes Chapel where he was pictured being swarmed by an army of screaming One Direction fans.
One Direction are expected to return with the follow-up to their 2011 album 'Up All Night' by the end of 2012.
