The One Direction star faced criticism after appearing to fake smiles for photos with fans – but Payno has taken to Twitter to defend himself.
When a Vine video of One Direction’s Liam Payne appearing to fake smiles when taking selfies with fans emerged on the internet a couple of days ago the star was criticized by some fans, and has taken to Twitter to stick up for himself.
Liam was taking photos with fans waiting outside the ARIA Awards, when the video was filmed showing his smile dropping between snaps, which has been watched over 2 million times.
Fans commented that he seemed annoyed to be having to stop for the pictures, but Payno hit back against the claims on Twitter.
He tweeted, “Lots of people saying I was 'faking' smiles with fans yesterday, I usually find when ur taking a photo u don't smile until somebody's about to take the photo.”

Sorry to disappoint but I don't walk around like this all day... That would hurt!

“Sorry to disappoint but I don't walk around like this all day... That would hurt!" Well it does take 26 muscles to smile – that’s a big old work out for the face when you have as many fan as One Direction do!
Liam showed his gratitude to his fans on Thanksgiving however, as he tweeted, “Happy thanks giving everyone so much to be thankful for today especially you guys x”. Aww!
