Ne-Yo has hailed Beyonce for making one of his tracks a 'smash'.
The singer praised the 'Single Ladies' star despite recently saying he wrote 'Irreplaceable' for himself and regretted giving it away.
Ne-Yo took to Twitter to explain that the track wouldn't have worked if a male artist had sang on it.
'Just heard the audio where I supposedly dissed Beyoncé. ARE Y'ALL SERIOUS!?! Did y'all even listen to what I said!?!' he wrote.
'I said I originally wrote the song for me. That's true, so OF COURSE I didn't want to give it away originally. IT WAS FOR ME.
'Once I realised how the song comes across if sang by a guy, that's when I decided to give it away. HOW IS THAT DISSING BEYONCE!?! She took the song and made it a smash.'
Meanwhile, Ne-Yo has also signed a deal with the Cartoon Network to create his own animated show.
