The 'We Can't Stop' singer says she thinks it's "cheesy" just to smile all the time.
Miley Cyrus has revealed that she sticks her tongue out when people taking pictures of her because she hates smiling for the camera.
The 'Wrecking Ball' singer has become well known this year for her signature tongue pose, and says she does it because she hates giving a "cheesy" smile when being pictured.
"I just stick my tongue out because I hate smiling in pictures," Miley revealed to Rolling Stone magazine. "It looks so cheesy.
"Now people expect it, like, 'Put your tongue out!'," she explained. "It's just easier that way, taking pictures is so embarrassing.
"But there's also something about it that I think is cool," Miley continued, about her trademark facial expression. "Every other girl is so serious. There's something empowering about what I'm doing right now.
"Because there's not one thing that defines what beauty is," she added.
