Miley Cyrus says Cody Simpson is her "type" as she slams internet 'slut shamers'

"Can't I just have a kiss and an açaí bowl?!?!" Miley addresses paparazzi photos of her kissing Cody Simpson and asks people not to make dating "awkward" for her.

Miley Cyrus is no stranger to being in the public eye. The singer and actress made headlines in the summer after her break up with husband, Liam Hemsworth and brief relationship with Kaitlynn Carter. Miley is now speaking out about being "slut-shamed" after she was papped kissing Australian singer, Cody Simpson this week.

The prying eyes of the paparazzi managed to capture a photo of the singer getting close to Cody Simpson on what appeared to be a daytime outing to get food.

In a surprisingly candid statement shared via Twitter, Miley got real about dating for the first time in her 20s and the double standards women face when they pursue companionship in the exact same way that men do.

"I know the public feels invested in my past relationship because they felt like they saw it thru from the beginning," she wrote in reference to her 10-year relationship with Liam Hemsworth.

"I think that's why people have always felt so entitled to my life and how I live it because they've watched me grow up....but I am grown now and make choices as an adult knowing the truth/details/reality."

"People only "know" what they see on the internet," Miley continued.

"Men (especially successful ones) are RARELY slut shamed. They move on from one beautiful young woman to the next MOST times without consequence. They are usually referenced as 'legends' 'heartthrobs', 'G', 'ladies man' etc.....where women are called sluts/whores! I am trying to just THRIVE/survive in a 'man's' world," she explained.

"If our president can 'gram em by the pussy....' can't I just have a kiss and an açaí bowl?!?!"

In the second part of the note, Miley said that she refuses to be a "recluse" and "date from home".

"I would like to share an activity with someone I am dating and not be stuck at home with pretty much nothing to do but 'Netflix and chill'"

She continued: "This 'dating thing is new to me too. I've never been an 'adult'/grown ass woman experiencing this...I was in a committed relationship for almost all my teens and early 20s."

Miley also assured fans that she wouldn't be slowing down when it came to putting herself out there romantically.

"I have a great life I wouldn't trade for 'privacy' but PLEASE don't make this awkward for me!"

"Get used to me dating - this is where I am at! #HotGirlFall".

Well, there you go. Miley said she's gonna date, kiss, get açaí bowls and have a hot girl fall (all in PUBLIC), so ya'll better get used to it. PERIODT.

Miley also posted a photo of Cody Simpson and declared him her "type", poking fun at all the speculation.
