Black Mirror have unveiled the trailer for Miley's episode and it looks very familiar...
Miley Cyrus is about to star in Black Mirror and fans are convinced that she is criticising Disney and Hannah Montana in it.
It's no secret that Black Mirror often aims to critique modern society. In recent episodes, the popular Netflix series has called out everything from our worrying reliance on social media to the dangers of virtual reality. It's terrifying and brilliant and each episode stars its own unique cast.
Last year, multiple sources reported that Miley Cyrus would act in Black Mirror and now Netflix have unveiled the trailer for her episode: Rachel, Jack and Ashley Too.
As soon as the trailer debuted, people immediately began drawing comparisons between Miley's character and her Hannah Montana alter ego. In the episode, Miley plays a shiny popstar figure called Ashley, who encourages people to "be who you want to be". She also unveils a brand new miniature robot voiced by her and based on her called "Ashley Too", which fans can purchase and keep in their own homes.
We're then shown a girl called Rachel buying Ashley Too and the robot telling her "I'll be here for you", intercut with scenes of the real Ashley in distress and label executives talking about upping her dose. Ashley says: "It's getting so hard to keep doing this" and the trailer ends with the Ashley Too robot screaming at Rachel. It's ominous and chilling but it's also very reminiscent of Miley's recent past.
After Miley Cyrus ended her contract with Disney she talked very openly about the ways in which playing a character while growing up negatively affected her mental health. Speaking to Marie Claire in 2015, she revealed: "I was made to look like someone that I wasn't which probably caused some body dysmorphia". She added: "When I wasn't on that show, it was like, Who the fuck am I?"
Granted Hannah Montana never had her own robot, and just this year Miley appeared to re-embrace her Disney character and hint at a reboot, but it's easy to see the parallels between Ashley and Miley's own life. With that in mind, many Miley fans think that she's taking aim at Disney and Hannah in Black Mirror and have been taking to Twitter to tweet about it.

So Miley aka Ashley is a part of some experiment. And her management knows how fucked up that has gotten her into but still continue with it because they are earning in tons.... #blackmirror pic.twitter.com/fgGp1y5S0d
