The 'Give Me All Your Luvin' singer is said to have agreed to forget about her disagreement with the UK star.
Elton John has revealed that his ongoing feud with Madonna has now been resolved.
The 'Tiny Dancer' singer and 'Music' star Madonna have engaged in a war of the words in recent years, particularly after Elton last year branded her 'MDNA' world tour as a "disaster".
The British singer was quoted in the press saying her music career was at an end, as well as insulting the US star, but now claims the two have made amends.
"We were in a restaurant in France in the summer time," Elton recalled to Extra this week. "She came in, and I sent over a note.
"She was very gracious," he explained. "I apologised profusely because what I said should never have appeared in public.
"She accepted our apology and then we bought her dinner, that's over and done with," he added. "She was fantastic, she was just like, 'Okay, let's get a move on'."

Earlier this week the 'Crocodile Rock' star also revealed he and partner David Furnish have named Lady Gaga godmother to their second son Elijah.
Madonna previously said she has forgiven Elton John for his comments, while her 'MDNA' tour went on to gross $296.1 million and become the most successful tour of 2012.
