Perrie says she and the One Direction star make sure to balance their relationship with work commitments.
Little Mix star Perrie Edwards has opened up about her relationship with One Direction's Zayn Malik and says that the couple make sure to keep a balance between their work schedule and getting to see each other.
The 'Cannonball' singer also clarified reports the two got together during the last season of The X Factor, which Little Mix went on to win in December 2011, and claims they didn't become a couple until after the show had ended.
"Yes, it's official," Perrie reveals in the new issue of Fabulous magazine. "We were never together when I was on the show, but we did talk a lot.
"I met him on the charity single and he was just really sweet and we've been friends since then."
Perrie went on to explain that the celebrity couple make sure to balance their priorities to make sure they get the time to see each other, despite hectic work schedules which often leave them apart for several weeks on end.
"It's not difficult to have a relationship when you're so busy, it's just a case of knowing what your priorities are," she explained. "Things so happen and it's not you that changes, it's your life that changes."
