The 'Wings' singer says she knows press rumours about the young couple were "always going to happen".
Little Mix star Perrie Edwards says she doesn't react to negative criticism about her relationship with One Direction star Zayn Malik and knows that it "comes with the territory".
The 'Cannonball' singer laughed off suggestions that the two young stars are together purely for publicity, as well as denying they have any plans to get married in the near future.
Perrie says even though she is prepared for the media to comment on her relationship with the 'One Thing' singer, she's glad to have bandmates Jesy Nelson, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirlwall to back her up.
"I think it comes with the territory," Perrie told the Sunday Sun today (22nd July). "It's always going to happen and they'll be times when there's pictures of you in the paper where you've been caught off-guard.
"That's what I've got the three girls for," Perrie explained. "I know they're got my back, as well as all the Little Mix fans."
Perrie and One Direction star have been dating since later 2011 after they met on The X Factor, and went public with their relationship earlier this years after a series of pictures emerged of them kissing out in public.
