In 2018, Lil Xan shocked fans after revealing he was hospitalised after eating too many Hot Cheetos. Lil Xan shared a photo of himself in the back of an ambulance and then later explained that it was nothing to do with drugs. He said: "I was in hospital not due to any drugs, but I guess I ate too many Hot Cheetos. I was in the hospital not due to any drugs but I guess I ate too many Hot Cheetos and it ripped something in my stomach open so I puked a little blood." [via Instagram]
Lil Xan and Noah Cyrus began dating in June 2018. However, by September the couple had split. In a Instagram Story, Lil Xan appeared to accuse Noah of cheating. He wrote: "I feel like I'm probably being cheated on right now." Lil Xan has spokenly openly about his battles with drug addiction, which started after he was prescribed a benzo for anxiety at 18 years old. His addiction spiralled and, in 2020, as he tried to kick his addiction to prescription meds, he suffered multiple seizures as he went cold turkey, which lead to fake rumours that he had died. After suffering from Xanax addiction himself, and following the drug related death of fellow rapper Lil Peep, Lil Xan announced the movement during a performance. Lil Xan has been documenting his recovery from drug addiction and updates fans with photos and news on his social channels. According to a TMZ report in the same month, Xan told the publisher that after a relapse, he was 40 days clean after doing 30 days in a detox center and 30 days in a rehab facility.
