The country singer prevents the 'Born This Way' star from retaining her crown for a second year.
Taylor Swift has beaten Lady Gaga and Adele to the crown of highest-earning pop artist of 2011.
The country singer earned $35,719,902 million in 2011 through a combination of her live tours, music sales and royalties.
Taylor pushed last year's highest earner Lady Gaga into fourth. The 'Born This Way' star earned $25.4 million, which put her behind U2 and Kenny Chesney who were second and third respectively.
The figures, compiled by Billboard, saw Adele round off the top ten, earning $13,081,909 million in 2011, despite being forced to cancel her North American tour due to illness.
Adele was helped by huge sales of her second album '21', which dominated the US Billboard Top 200 album chart.
