Sam Smith Made Lady Gaga Cry... For The Most ADORABLE Reason Ever!

The 'Stay With Me' superstar wrote a heartfelt email to the US singer... and her response is beautiful.

Wait… Sam Smith made Lady Gaga cry?!! Don't worry though, it was for an AMAZING reason!

The 'I'm Not The Only One' star wrote the Mother Monster a personal, emotional letter earlier this month, thanking the Lady for inspiring him and his music, and you'll NEVER guess what Lady Gaga did in response.

The 'Venus' star was clearly VERY touched by Sam's gesture, and posted a lovely tweet to the UK singer revealing his message had moved her to tears. Oh… you guys!!

"You're so special my baby," Lady Gaga wrote in her tweet to Sam. "Your email made me cry @samsmithworld.

"With the voice of an angel, u need no permission or advice. You're perfect."

OMG… right?!

And now Sam's gone on record to reveal what led to the adorable exchange between two of our favourite stars…

"Someone had mentioned to me that Gaga knew of my stuff," Sam recalled this week, to AMP Radio in Boston. "I was just completely overwhelmed by that.

"I wrote her an email basically just saying, I remember being a 17 year-old, queuing up for your concert, dreaming up doing this and being in the music industry," the 'Stay With Me' singer explained.. "The thing I admire most about [her] was the hustle and what she did to get into the industry.

"I just ran with it saying, 'Thank you so much for inspiring me to do this because the reason why I'm here now is partly because of you'," he added. "And she seemed touched."
