Lady Gaga's Father Thought She Had A "Screw Loose", Singer's Mother Reveals

The 'Born This Way' star's mother chats to Oprah about her daughter's childhood.

Lady Gaga's mother has revealed that her husband and the singer's father used to think his daughter had a "screw loose".

Cynthia Germanotta made the comments alongside her daughter in an interview with chat show host Oprah Winfrey.

Speaking about when Lady Gaga first began to develop her persona, Cynthia said: "When Gaga started emerging, I think it was at Joe's pub downtown.

"She was in her bikini performing with Lady Starlight and decided one night to light hairspray on fire. Some people left when that happened and a lot of people stayed and thought it was cool.

"But her father and I were like, honestly he said, 'I think she has a screw loose'."

Lady Gaga and her mother's interview on Oprah's Next Chapter also sees the singer talk about her future and plans for a family, as well as her intention to stop doing interviews.

Meanwhile, the singer is currently preparing to begin her 'Born This Way Ball' tour in the Far East next month.
