The 'You & I' singer struck up a conversation about the film with movie star Danny Trejo.
Lady Gaga's role in the upcoming Robert Rodriguez film Machete Kills came about after a chance meeting with the movie's star.
The 'Marry The Night' singer portrays La Chameleon in the Planet Terror director's new film, and bagged the role after finding herself sat next to star Danny Trejo in a Los Angeles tattoo parlour.
According to E! News, the two struck up a conversation about Machete Kills while waiting in LA's Shamrock Social Club tattoo parlour when Gaga mentioned she would love to work with the director.
A representative for Open Road Films has since confined that film star Danny then called Robert to reveal Gaga's interest, leading to her later being cast in a supporting role on the project.

The 'Judas' star is currently preparing to begin promoting her new album 'ARTPOP', with rumours she has already started picking out a range of outfits for her promotional duties.
Lady Gaga's new album 'ARTPOP' is expected out this autumn while Machete Kills is in cinemas from 31st July.
