Lady Gaga and Madonna are 'distant cousins'

Lady Gaga is a distant relation of Madonna, according to a celebrity genealogist.

Chris Child claims the pair shared farming ancestors in the 1600s, who moved from France to Canada.

'When I saw that Lady Gaga had French Canadian ancestry, I thought there might be something there,' the New England Historical Genealogical Society specialist said.

'They are ninth cousins once removed.'

Child reportedly provided evidence of the findings, which showed that the two had mutual ancestors in the form of a farming couple, who moved from France to Quebec in the 1600s, according to The Metro.
