The 'Mr. Know It All' star paid tribute to the American star at her tour show in California this week.
Kelly Clarkson paid a special tribute to Katy Perry during her 'Stronger' live tour show in Concord, California this week when she covered her hit single 'Wide Awake'.
The 'Dark Side' singer told the crowd at the show that the track was her "favourite thing that she's ever wrote," before delivering a tender and poignant rendition of the song.
The star does a special cover each night during her set which is selected by a member of the audience in attendance.
Both artists were also on the bill at the Capital FM Summertime Ball 2012 last month performing in front of 80,000 fans at Wembley Stadium.
Meanwhile, Kelly recently opened up on her feelings towards the vacant judging positions on American Idol following the departure of Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler.

She said that she would not be interested in making a return to the music reality series and picked former champion Carrie Underwood as an ideal replacement on the show.
Kelly will return to the UK later this year for the European leg of her jaunt when she performs a series of dates around the country in October.
