The 'I Kissed A Girl' singer is just the 20th artist to have a single debut at the top spot.
Katy Perry's new song 'Part of Me' has debuted at the top of the US Billboard Hot 100 chart making it only the 20th track in 53 years to do so.
It becomes the singer's seventh chart summit and she first debuted the track during her performance at the 54th Grammy Awards on 12th February which also featured a medley of her Kanye West featuring single 'E.T'.
The 'Teenage Dream' star took to her twitter account following the news to share her joy with her followers.
She tweeted: "Today has been a BEAUTIFUL day! U debuted "Part Of Me" at #1 & now I can't wait to bat my LASHES & thank u in person @ the Americana at 4pm!"
The singer joins the likes of the late Whitney Houston, Eminem and most recently Lady Gaga who have all achieved the same feat.
Meanwhile, Katy stepped out in California following the news of the chart success as she launched her own range of fake eye lashes for Eylure at the Americana in Glendale, California.
