The 'Wide Awake' singer discusses what she likes about moving into more acting roles.
Katy Perry has revealed she looks up to comic actresses like Amy Poehler and Tina Fey, while discussing her role as Smurfette in the new animated sequel The Smurfs 2.
The 'Part Of Me' singer says she has enjoyed playing characters who are the opposite of how she is in real life, and opened up about her move into Hollywood after being told that film producer Jordan Kerner believes she could move into acting full-time.
"That's kind," Katy told Radar magazine, in response to the compliment. "The comic actresses I admire are women like Amy Poehler, Tina Fey and Rebel Wilson.
"Girls that aren't afraid to be self-deprecating and they're OK with looking at themselves in bad lighting," she explained. "Women who are more interested in the joke rather than in their presentation.

"I like the idea of acting to play the opposite of how I present myself, as some kind of unrecognisable character," Katy added. "As I've said before, I'm just a normal girl, just a Plain Jane who watered a seed and watched it grow.
"If I can do it, anyone can. Girls don't need to be physically perfect so succeed."
This week a brand new poster has been unveiled to promote Katy's new fragrance Killer Queen which officially launches in August.
Katy Perry stars alongside Neil Patrick Harris in The Smurfs 2 which hits cinemas on 31st July.
