Katy Perry And Russell Brand's Friends "Shocked" By Divorce

A friend of the 'E.T.' singer says they didn't expect the couple to split up after only 14 months.

Katy Perry and Russell Brand have been described as a “very affectionate” couple, by a close friend who admits being “shocked” at news of their impending divorce.

The English comedian filed for divorce from ‘Teenage Dream’ singer Katy on 30^th December after 14 months together, and a source close to the couple says they have always seemed “really in love”.

“I was shocked when I found out,” the source admitted to People. “I was really surprise that Russell filed for divorce so quickly – especially at Christmas time.

“I thought they would be together for a long time. Maybe not forever – but definitely not just 14 months.

The source added: ”They seemed like they were really in love.”

‘The One That Got Away’ singer will reportedly make her first public appearance since news of the divorce emerged at the People’s Choice Awards later this month.
