The comedian opens up about being married to the 'I Kissed A Girl' following their divorce this summer.
Russell Brand has confessed that he believes himself and Katy Perry were "incompatible" and decided it was best for the couple to separate.
The 'Hot N Cold' star and the British comedian called time on their 14 month marriage at the end of 2011 and finalised their divorce back in July.
Speaking on Australian TV show 60 minutes, the Get Him To The Greek star admitted the pair knew it was time to end their relationship.
"Sometimes it goes well, sometimes it don't. But if you sort of sense there's an incompatibility, then in any relationship regardless of the status of the individual, it kind of is best to go separate ways," he said.
Brand continued: "I think if you're someone who's really into mountain biking, it would be good to go out with someone else who's into mountain biking, and if you're really into Eastern mysticism, go out with someone else who into Eastern mysticism.
"I think if you're a devoted tennis professional and you get married to a [drug] addict, you might have trouble," he added. "I've been in a lot of trouble."
Earlier this year, Russell admitted that he still "loved" Katy despite the marriage break-down and was happy to have wed the singer.
Meanwhile, Katy Perry has been in Tokyo this week where she launched her Part Of Me 3D movie and also ventured to Singapore for the recent Formula One Grand Prix event.
