Russell Brand to escape charges

Russell Brand isn't going to face charges over a spat with a photographer at LA Airport.

The comedian was arrested back in September - when he claimed a snapper was trying to put a camera up his wife Katy Perry's skirt and had been facing a potential charge of battery.

The 35-year-old met prosecutors on Wednesday and they decided not to pursue charges, LA city attorney's spokesman Frank Mateljan said.

Brand married Katy in India last month.
