The 'Teenage Dream' singer also confirms the song is the only one on her new album that deals with her split.
Katy Perry has described her new album song 'By The Grace Of God' as "autobiographical", while discussing how the track relates to her divorce from ex-husband Russell Brand.
The 'Roar' singer has admitted the song, which features on her new album 'Prism', was written about that time in her life, and says the song sees her finding the strength to move on.
"Well, imagine what you go through. Imagine what happens when you go through a break-up," Katy told EW this week. "We all go through break-ups and we all get very depressed and desperate.
"The lyrics are very exact and autobiographical. That's how I write," she explained. "But the one thing about those lyrics is you can hear me finding my strength throughout the song. It starts off really low and then I kind of stand up for myself and say, 'No!'"

Katy also explained that, apart from 'By The Grace Of God', none of the other songs on 'Prism' were written about the end of her romance with Russell and were written a long time afterward.
"All the other songs are stories from different times in my life," Katy added.
Katy Perry was in London last week and filmed her 'Unconditionally' music video during her time there.
