The 'Part Of Me' star posts a trailer to the forthcoming movie on Twitter.
Katy Perry has revealed that an exert from On The Road inspired her hit 'Firework'.
The book, by Jack Kerouac, tells the story of the author's spontaneous road trips across the US and has been transformed into a new movie starring Twilight's Kristen Stewart.
Posting a link to the trailer for the film on her Twitter account, Katy admitted that the story, which is known to be a favourite of her ex-husband Russell Brand, had influenced her music.
She wrote: "YES! This is going to be EPIC. The last quote in this trailer (which is from the book) inspired Firework. CAN'T WAIT"
It is thought Katy was referring to the following quote from the book, which is featured in the trailer.
"The only people that interest me are the mad ones. The ones who are mad to live, mad to talk, desirists of everything at the same time. The ones that never yawn or see a common placed thing, but burn, burn like roman candles across the night."
Meanwhile, Katy Perry is set to release a new updated edition of her second album 'Teenage Dream' later this month.
