The singer is working on the follow-up to 'Teenage Dream' following Russell Brand split.
Katy Perry is currently recording new songs that will reflect her "major life changes", according to her producer.
The singer, who split from husband Russell Brand in December, is currently working with Bonnie McKee on new material. The pair have previously hooked-up on some of Katy's biggest singles, including 'California Gurls' and 'Teenage Dream'.
Speaking to MTV News, Bonnie said: "She's going through some major life changes, so it's not all about bubble gum and fun; it's real and it's deep and she has a lot to say.
"So I think people are anxious to hear it."
Bonnie added: "I'm really excited and I think everyone is going to really relate to and love what she's doing next."
Earlier this week, Katy's new single 'Part Of Me' was given its first play on Capital FM.
The track is one of three new songs included on the forthcoming special edition of Katy's second album 'Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection'.
