The 'Unconditionally' singer says everybody in music is "so naked" these days.
Katy Perry has urged female pop stars to "put it away" and stop getting naked all the time to promote their music.
The 'Roar' singer says she's "not judging" but things stars shouldn't always rely on stripping off and being sexy to promote their music.
"Everybody's getting naked!" Katy revealed in an interview on NPR this past weekend. "I mean, I've been make before but I don't feel like I have to always get naked to be noticed.
"I'm not talking about anyone in particular, I'm talking about all of them!" the US star explained. "I mean, it's like everybody's so naked. It's like, put it away.
"We know you've got it. I got it too. I've taken it off for, I've taken it out here and there," Katy continued. "And I'm not necessarily judging. I'm just saying sometimes it's nice to play that card but also it's nice to play other cards.
"And I know I have that sexy card in my deck but I don't always have to use that card."
The 'Teenage Dream' singer went on to explain that she prefers to be an inspiration to her fans rather than a role model.
"I think I like to be an inspiration," Katy explained. "A lot of people see me as a role model but I'd like to kind of turn that around and say I appreciate that but I'd like to be seen as a inspiration."
Katy Perry launched her new album 'Prism' last week and filmed her music video for new single 'Unconditionally' in London two weeks ago.
