The 'Firework' singer is rumoured to be dating the musician and has apparently been advised by the Friends actress.

Katy Perry has reportedly been warned to not get her heart broken by John Mayer from one of his exes, Jennifer Aniston.

The 'Part Of Me' singer has apparently been told to "watch out" by the actress, amid rumours of the couple's new relationship.

A source told Hollywood life: "Katy should really watch out. Take it from Jen. She's been there and done that."

The insider continued: "And it took her years to recover. Jennifer gave John more than a year to prove himself as marriage material. Katy needs to be warned about John's hypnotic ways before it's too late."

The Friends star was involved in a very public relationship with the pop/blues singer, who has dated several high-profile female celebrities.

The couple are yet to confirm reports if they are dating, although they have been pictured attending several events and intimate dinners together since the summer.

Meanwhile, Katy was seen at the same NBA basketball match as her ex-husband Russell Brand last week as they watched the LA Lakers' season opener.
