John Mayer And Katy Perry Surprise Fan With Guitar Gift After Chance Encounter

The 'Your Body Is A Wonderland' singer treated a teenager to her dream guitar after a chance meeting.

John Mayer and Katy Perry gave one lucky fan the surprise of her life when they bought her an expensive guitar after a chance encounter in a New York City music shop.

16 year-old Julie Fermin bumped into the newly reunited couple at a shop in Soho and ended up chatting to John about her favourite guitars, before being told by a shop employee that he had made  gift of the dream instrument.

"We started freaking out and getting super excited," the teenager told Us Weekly about getting to meet the pair. "I show him and he went over and checked the guitar's price.

"I said, 'Yup, but I can't afford it', and he said, 'Oh, stop it!'," she explained.

Julie explained that John and Katy then said goodbye, after which a shop employee came over and told her the 'Your Body Is A Wonderland' singer had just bought her the guitar.

"I was so shocked, I started crying and screaming," she added. "I can't describe all the emotions I felt at that moment, I just knew I was the luckiest and happiest person alive."

"I never in my life thought I'd get to meet and get to talk to Katy Perry and John Mayer, I literally thought it was impossible. FOREVER MIND BLOWN," Julie tweeted after her surprise encounter. "Things like this don't happen to me I'm so happy and thankful I'm gonna cry for the 1000th time."

The couple are believed to have split up in March this year before reconciling in recent weeks, with John even giving Katy a shout-out during his new world tour launch in Milwaukee over the weekend.

'Part Of Me' singer Katy Perry is also working on new material for her third studio album which co-writer Bonnie McKee has promised will have a more mature sound.
