Katy Perry To Play Freddie Mercury's Girlfriend In Sacha Baron Cohen Starring Biopic?

The 'Part Of Me' singer is rumoured to be appearing in a film on the late Queen star's life.

Katy Perry could be set to star in a new film about the late Queen singer Freddie Mercury, it has been reported.

The 'I Kissed A Girl' singer is rumoured to be playing the legendary star's girlfriend Mary Austin in the movie which will star Sacha Baron Cohen.

"Katy would love to be in the film as she is such a huge fan," a source to the star told The Daily Mirror. "She would want to play Mary Austin ideally. Katy has a similar look to Mary and would be a brilliant foil to Sacha."

The biopic is being made alongside Queen star's Brian May and Roger Taylor with filming said to take place next year.

Meanwhile, Katy is also set to star in her first 3D concert movie Part Of Me which will hit the big screen this July.

The American also made an appearance at Capital's Summertime Ball 2012 this weekend performing alongside the likes of Justin Bieber, Usher and The Wanted.
