The artists will be honouring The Beatles legend at a ceremony shortly before the Grammys 2012.
Katy Perry has been confirmed to perform at the 2012 MusiCares Person of the Year ceremony in honour of Paul McCartney.
The 'I Kissed A Girl' singer joins the likes of Coldplay and Alicia Keys at the event which will pay tribute to The Beatles star's artistic achievements and philanthropic work.
This is the second event in which Katy Perry has been confirmed to appear at following the announcement earlier this week that she would perform live on stage at the this year's Grammys.
The charity event is regarded as one of the highlights of the Grammys week and will also feature performances by such acts as Foo Fighters, Neil Young and Tony Bennett.
Meanwhile, reports have been suggesting 'The One That Got Away' singer could be set to become the focus for a new 3D documentary movie.
