The 'Wide Awake' singer covered one of the songwriter's own tracks at the tribute event in the Big Apple.
Katy Perry was among several stars who turned out to perform for and honour US singing legend Carole King at an event in New York City last night (4th December).
The 'Part Of Me' star opted for a floor-length green Yves St. Laurent gown split up to the thigh for her appearance at the Carole King Music celebration at New York's Dolby Theatre on Tuesday evening, also attended by the likes of singer Alicia Keys.
Katy was pictured posing alongside famed songwriter Carole on the red carpet at the event, before later performing a cover of the US singer's hit 'So Far Away'.
Four-time Grammy Award winner Carole had been honoured earlier in the week when she was presented with a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame.

Last week Katy also announced plans to release a third fragrance sometime next year after recently completing work on the new project, as well as confirming she hopes to shoot more film roles in the future.
Katy Perry has been working with songwriters on the follow-up to her 2010 record 'Teenage Dream', which is expected to be released sometime in 2013.
