Katy Perry Opens Up On Her Beauty And Make-Up Regime - Video

The 'Firework' singer also explains why she always keeps her hair dark.
Katy Perry has opened up on her hair and beauty regimes as well as explaining why she has mostly kept her hair dyed black over the years.
The 'Teenage Dream' singer says she first adopted her dark hair colour after a failed bid to echo one of Madonna's classic looks, and says she has mostly kept it that way ever since.
"I've been dying my hair black since I was 15," Katy reveals in a video diary for her new Vogue US cover shoot. "The whole reason why I dyed my hair black actually was because when I was 15 I chopped it all off.
"I had it bleached blonde like Madonna in 'Who's That Girl' and it just didn't look right, and so I bought a box of colour, went black and have never gone back!" the 'California Gurls' singer explained, before going on to discuss how she approaches her make-up for shows and appearances.
"We used to like to do dramatic make-up but I think we are coming into the more age-appropriate field of experimenting!" Katy explained. "My skin used to be a lot worse than it is, so we would do a lot more coverage because I was insecure about my skin.
"And when you're insecure about your skin you just do a lot more," Katy continued. "Most of the time I'm doing stuff with big lights and lots of HD, so there's a lot of things to think about when painting your face. But I love a good paint!

"My brows and my eyes are what I think frame my whole face. I have alright lips and alright cheekbones but they're not like show-offs.
I"f I can get my brows and my eyes right, that really sets the whole face," the US star added.
Katy Perry features as the cover model for Vogue's July issue, her first cover for the iconic publication.
In the interview she notably opens up on her relationship with John Mayer, admitting she is still "madly in love" with the singer-songwriter despite the romance ending.
