The 'It Girl' singer says he is taking his recovery "one day at a time".
Jason Derulo has revealed that he plans to record a new album while recovering from his neck injury.
The 'It Girl' star was almost left paralyzed when he landed on his head while attempting an acrobatic move earlier this month.
The injury meant Jason was forced to cancel his tour, which had been due to kick off in the UK next month.
Speaking for the first time about the incident, Jason said he was taking things "one day at a time".
"It's been really eye opening," he todl People. "It's given me a chance to look at everything and realize how blessed I truly am.
"It was shocking because I've never broken a bone or anything. [It] hurt like hell]."
Speaking about his plans to record another album, Jason added: "I'm going to make another album when I'm down. We'll see what comes out of that. I don't know what it's called yet, but it's really inspired."
Jason released his last album 'Future History' in 2011. The singer has yet to announce whether his cancelled tour will be rescheduled.
