Halsey says she is taking a break after the Manic tour to "grow up"

Halsey has announced that she will be taking a break from touring once her current run of shows have finished.

Halsey has had a rough old year, being at the brunt of criticism for everything, from her visuals allegedly ripping of those of The 1975 (she didn't) to G-Eazy drama resurfacing, and now she's announced she'll be taking a well-earned break after her current tour is over.

She's currently on a world tour in support of her latest release, Manic, which is set to end in August in the US, but despite only being on the European leg, she's already decided that she's had enough.

Just before the UK tour wraps up in Manchester tonight (March 12), Halsey took to the stage at her Dublin show to express her feelings about how she'd loved watching her fans grow up as they've followed her music, and she wanted them to witness her go through the same transition as she finds herself in order to come back and write 'the best f*cking album that you've ever heard.'

In the clip, filmed by a fan at the concert, she can be heard saying: "I've watched some of you guys get married, get engaged, go to university...watched a lot of you do a lot of stupid dumb sh*t too.

"The cool thing about it is that you've watched me grow up too. You guys have watched me date, a lot of people...yep, so many. Like, a lot. You've watched me break up with...a lot of people. You guys have watched me say the wrong thing at the wrong time, make friends with the wrong people.

"But something's started happening where you guys have started to grow up faster than I was...and I'm supposed to be the one who writes the songs that help you and stops you from making mistakes. But how can I do that if you're growing up faster than me?

"So, that's why I'm taking this break. So that I can go away and I can do a little bit of growing up and come back and write you the best f*cking album you've ever heard."

The 'You Should Be Sad' singer has always been very open about her personal struggles, and from the cheers in the crowd, her fans are more than willing to support her choice.

While we're sad that there's probably not going to be any new music for a while, we're glad that she's taking time to work on herself, and are still praying for those regular Evan Peters updates.
