Halsey previously criticised the Grammys for not giving 'Without Me' or BTS any nominations at the 2020 ceremony.
Halsey won Favourite Pop/Rock Song at the American Music Awards and she appeared to drag the Grammys in her speech.
Last week (Nov 21), Halsey tweeted that she was "sad" the Grammys hadn't nominated her for anything. She also called out the Grammys for snubbing BTS.

She wrote: "BTS deserved many nominations. I am however, unsurprised that they weren’t acknowledged. the US is so far behind on the whole movement. the time will come." Halsey then continued: "none of it matters. everything is gonna stay exactly the same and without me is still a super tight, record breaking song."
Now, Halsey appears to be taking aim at the Grammys again in her powerful speech at the AMAs.
Accepting her award, Halsey said: “I grew up watching shows like this and I would sit at home wide-eyed and watch artists in these beautiful gowns and handsome suits, like, stroll up the stairs to the stage and they would hold up these awards and they were usually gold-plated and shiny and weighted, these, like, metaphors, these trophies that were supposed to be some kind of validation for the soul-crushing and heartache-inducing work that they put into writing a song and bringing it to life. And to be honest with you, I really believed that fairy tale."
She then appeared to take a swipe at the Grammys by saying: “I believed these awards. When I was a kid, I used to believe that this award was the ultimate validation and that I’d come up here and laugh and cry and my fans at home would rejoice because we accomplished this thing together. But the truth is I am older now and I’m also an artist and apparently I’m doing okay. But most of these awards really aren’t what they seem at all.”
Halsey then thanked the AMAs by adding: "I am so thankful to the AMAs because they are the largest fan-voted awards show. And I'm thankful to the fans because they're the people who really love music. And I'm thankful to the AMAs for giving those people a voice. I'm going to keep making music for them and for us. Sometimes you grow up and the stuff that you believed in starts to lose its magic but music never does because real fans, real artists and real stories keep that magic alive. Thank you!"

Halsey's speech was met with rapturous applause in the audience and Taylor Swift even called it "the speech of the night" in her Artist of the Year acceptance speech. She said: "I don’t even know what I’m saying because speech of the whole night goes to Halsey."
Huge congratulations to Halsey on her win for 'Without Me'. She deserves that and so much more.
