Example On Being Engaged To Model Erin McNaught: "I'm Punching Well Above My Weight!"

The 'Close Enemies' star says he was determined to get a ring on the finger of his Australian fiance.

Example has joked that he is "punching well above" his weight after getting engaged to former Miss Australia Erin McNaught.

The couple announced their engagement around November 2012 and the 'Changed The Way You Kissed Me' rapper says he decided to "get a ring on her finger asap" after the model and actress agreed to go out with him.

"I'm definitely punching well above my weight," Example revealed to The Sun this week. "Usually, if I meet an attractive girl I think, 'What is she with me for, I'm funny looking'.

"But when they are famous and not after money or fame I think, 'She must really like me and my funny face'," Example joked. "So when Erin went out with me I decided to get a ring on her finger asap!

"I wanted an Australian wife, so getting Miss Australia was a bonus!" he added.

The UK rapper unveiled the music video for his new single 'Perfect Replacement' recently, which follows 'Close Enemies' and 'Say Nothing' as the latest single from his 2012 album 'The Evolution Of Man'.

Example is set to kick off his brand new UK arena tour in February this year.
