Many people believed Eminem had gone after MGK because of comments the Ohio rapper made about his daughter Hailie, but now Eminem has cleared up any confusion and explained exactly why he dropped the diss.
Speaking to American radio host Sway Calloway, Eminem revealed, "Somebody sends me a screenshot of his Twitter and it says 'had some s**t to get my chest, you just rap you're not God'", which was a reference to Eminem's song 'Rap God'.
He goes on to say, "Now I'm in this weird thing because I gotta answer this motherf****r and every time I do that, as irrelevant as people say I am in Hip Hop, I make them bigger by getting into this thing where I wanna destroy him, but I don't wanna make them bigger."
After Eminem called out Machine Gun Kelly on 'Kamikaze', MGK responded with a track of his own called 'Rap Devil' and Eminem described it as "not bad for him - he had some good lines in it".
im standing up for not just myself, but my generation. im doing the same shit you did back in ur day. life is still real on my side, and i had to take time from the grind to defend myself from someone i called an idol. love, Rap Devil.

Eminem hasn't revealed whether he'll specifically reply to MGK with a song yet, but it appears that he's decided not to directly hit back and fans may be left wanting this time around.
