Emeli Sande Tops iTunes UK Year End Chart With Bestselling Album Of 2012

Adele's second album '21' also tops the US year-end chart for the second year running.
Emeli Sande says it is "incredible" that her debut album 'Our Version Of Events' has bagged the top spot on the iTunes UK end of year chart.
The Scottish born star, who performed at both the opening and closing ceremonies of the London 2012 Games over the summer, was followed in the top-selling album chart by Ed Sheeran and Lana Del Rey.
"To hear that I'm iTunes' 'Artist of the Year' and that 'Our Version Of Events' was the best-selling album on iTunes this year is just incredible!" Emeli said in a statement from Apple with the announcement. "Thank you for all your support and making this year even more special."
The 'Next to Me' singer has had a hugely successful twelve months in 2012 after she scooped the Critic's Choice award at the 2012 Brits as well as three MOBO Awards in total.
Emeli's latest single with Labrinth, 'Beneath Your Beautiful', also reached number one on the Vodafone Big Top 40 last month.

Adele also had cause to celebrate this week after her second album '21' was named the top-selling record of the year on US iTunes for the second year running.
The album, which has sold over 10 million copies worldwide, includes the huge singles 'Rolling In The Deep' and 'Someone Like You'.
The 'Set Fire To The Rain' singer won six Grammy awards this year, and this week received a Golden Globe nomination for her James Bond theme song 'Skyfall'.
