The 'A Team' star insists rumours the two have become involved are "idiotic" and "silly".
Ed Sheeran has commented on the widespread rumours earlier this year that he and Taylor Swift were dating, saying it would have been "idiotic" if it were true.
The 'Lego House' singer is Taylor's opening act on her 'Red' North American tour, and has been out on the road with the US star for the past several months.
Ed says it would have been "unprofessional" if they had gotten together, and has outright denied the press rumours of their romantic involvement.
"I think it would be incredibly unprofessional and idiotic for me to do that!" Ed told OK! magazine in America this week. "To go on tour for six months with someone and hook up with them just before you go out on tour, which is what people thing we did!
"That's just a really silly thing to do," he explained. "Because the tour would be very awkward by now, and it's no, so that's that!"
In the same interview Ed also commented on Taylor's reputation in the media as a serial dater, claiming she has only ever dated around five or six people as far he is aware.

Back in April it was widely reported that 'I Knew You Were Trouble' singer Taylor is planning to release 'Everything Has Changed', her duet with Ed Sheeran, as the next single from 'Red'.
Ed Sheeran has suggested a potential release of February 2014 for his own new studio album.
