Ed Sheeran And Taylor Swift Plan Special Celebration If They Win At MTV VMAs 2013

The 'Lego House' singer says he is very excited to receive his first big America award nomination.

Ed Sheeran says he and Taylor Swift plan to dress up "like rappers" if they win at this year's MTV Video Music Awards 2013.

The UK singer-songwriter has been nominated for his first VMA award in the nominations announcement this week, being put up for Best Male Video for his recent US hit 'Lego House'

"It's my very first nomination but I really haven't been nominated for that much stuff in america yet," Ed told MTV News after hearing the announcement. 'So it's nice to have this sort of recognition.

"America breeds heavy hitters so I don't think you can be nominated here in America without expecting that," the 'A Team' singer explained. "It's such a big country and you don't get [nominated] unless you have either marginal success or huge success and I have marginal success up against people with huge success."

The 'Drunk' singer went on to say that he and close friend Taylor Swift have a special celebration planned if either of them walk home with a Moonman award.

"I told her that if we both won we'd put on loads of bling and pretend to be rappers," Ed revealed, after saying he had received a congratulatory text from the 'Red' singer.

Justin Timberlake and Macklemore lead the pack at this year's VMAs with both acts receiving a total of six nominations each.

The MTV Video Music Awards 2013 takes place live from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on 26th August.
