The 'Lego House' singer has thanked 'tay tay' for her best wishes after his nomination for the awards show.
Taylor Swift has congratulated Ed Sheeran on being nominated for his first MTV Europe Music Award (EMAs) at the upcoming ceremony this autumn.
The 'Love Story' singer worked alongside 'Lego House' star Ed Sheeran earlier this year on a track for her new album 'Red', and the two have often spoken of their admiration for each other as artists.
Taylor posted a message on Twitter sending Ed best wishes for his nomination in the category for Best UK & Ireland Act, while the US star herself is up for a total of six awards including Best Pop Act, Best Live Act and Best Look.
"Just looked at the nominees - my buddy @edsheeran is nominated for an EMA too! PARTY. Fans from everywhere can vote here," Taylor tweeted last night (18th September).
Ed later replied: "@Taylorswift13 Oh shucks, thanks for that tay tay :)."
After finding out about his nomination for this year's MTV EMAs Ed admitted it was "pretty nuts", while out performing across Canada this week.

Last week Ed revealed he had recently written a brand new song with one of his favourite artists, while working on the follow-up to his debut studio album '+'.
The MTV EMA Awards 2012 are set to take place from Frankfurt, Germany on 11th November.
