The likes of Lil Wayne, Chris Brown and Ne-Yo have also been confirmed to perform.
Ed Sheeran, Nicki Minaj and Chris Brown are just some of the new names added to the star-studded performance line-up of this year's Billboard Music Awards 2013.
'Lego House' singer Ed, who is currently on tour across North America with Taylor Swift, will perform live at the 19th May ceremony alongside a duet from 'Va Va Voom' rapper Nicki Minaj and Lil Wayne, and an announced performance from 'Fine China' singer Chris Brown.
Ne-Yo and Akon are also expected to team up on stage when they join DJ David Guetta for a performance together, while Jennifer Lopez and Icona Pop have also been confirmed this week.
The newly announced additions join the likes of Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, Christina Aguilera, Bruno Mars, Selena Gomez, Pitbull, Macklemore and Prince on the huge bill for this month's awards show.
The nominations this year are headed up by '22' singer Taylor, 'We Are Young' trio Fun. and 'Moves Like Jagger band Maroon 5, with all three acts having a total of 11 nominations each.

The Billboard Music Awards 2013 takes place from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on 19th May.
