The 'Take Care' admits he ensures he works out each day and eats right to give it his all live on stage.
Drake has confessed that he goes into his 'Club Paradise' tour with the mentality and training of an athlete to ensure he can deliver a fantastic live performance.
The 'Moment 4 Life' star told MTV that making sure the records sound true to the actual song is extremely important and his preparations make sure he keeps to this idea.
"I think going onstage for me now, it's a very physical thing. It's 90 minutes, and I like to deliver records so that they sound like the actual song," he explained.
"To be able to maintain that stamina is very difficult, and it's become a profession in its own for me, as far as mastering my breathing, working out every day, eating different, not drinking as much, just taking my life a bit more serious."
Drake referenced one of his earlier outings and relying on his youthful exuberance to help him through.
"'So Far Gone' Tour was just a blast. We were young, we were going place to place; now it's very much like I treat my mind and my body in this whole approach like an athlete.
"I think that's maybe the evolution that we're talking about," he added. "Along with working with my vocal coach, just trying to get better, watching great performances and special moments."
The Canadian star recently opened up to explain that he was looking forward to getting to work on his next studio album after his current tour ends.
