Conor Maynard says he doesn't want to "be the next anyone" as he prepares to launch his first album out in America this week.
The 'Can't Say No' singer has responded to claims of similarities between himself and fellow YouTube sensation Justin Bieber, but says he aims to be "unique" in his own way without following the path of someone else's career.
"i don't want to be the next anyone," Conor told MTV News, while promoting the US release of his album 'Contrast'. "I want to be the first Conor Maynard.
"I think I want to have a successful career that is unique in its own way," Conor said, regarding comparisons to the Canadian superstar. "There isn'y really anyone out there where I'm like, 'Yeah I want to do it like they've done'.
"I think I kind of want to get to a point of being as successful as possible in a way that's unique to me," Conor added.
